A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW
All Anna wants for her fortieth birthday is a ladies- night out. Her plans are stalled when she ends up stuck in her griffin costume. The mascot for the Alexandria Griffins, she never expects to be rescued by the star of her midnight fantasies, quarterback Kyran Black. Called -The Rebel- by the press because of his long hair, tattoos and playboy stats off the field, he-s everything Anna should avoid.Kyran is gorgeous and irresistible and he suggests they celebrate her birthday together. Certain she-s too old for him, she agrees to one night. Kyran-s charm and dominance in bed blitz Anna-s defenses, teaching her things about sex she never thought she-d experience. But when their one-night stand turns into a relationship, his bad-boy past comes back to threaten their future
Anna James’ 40th birthday wasn’t going exactly to plan. She’d gotten word from her doctor that she could be perimenopausal in a couple of years and now she’s stuck in her mascot outfit. What makes it worse is when her favorite QB, Kyran Black, shows up in the dressing room.
Kyran has had a thing for Anna since he caught her a tryout last spring. They went out on one spectacular date and then a bogus phone number stopped him dead in his tracks. He’s been biding his time, hoping he’d finally be able to get Ms. Anna James to give them chance. He’s shed his playboy ways and ready to commit, but can he get the woman he wants to commit to her too?
Both Kyran and Anna were likeable characters in this story. Kyran knew what he wanted (Anna) and was willing to do whatever it took to get her. Anna was suspicious of Kyran’s attentions, because why would a hot QB want a 40 year old teacher when he could have underwear models? Even with all the spectacular and raunchy sex they were having, Anna still had her doubts. That, of course, led to Kyran declaring his love and doing everything in his power to prove that to her.
The suspense subplot of why the paparazzi where always following them and the devious machinations of their exes was intriguing, leaving me wishing there was a little bit more added to the story
Overall, an enjoyable read.
