Human servants bound to their vampire master who suffer pain should they ever be touched by another?  Sounds like a pretty serious punishment that I would never want to suffer, but if I found myself attracted to the gorgeous Javier, I’m pretty sure I would have taken the same chances Lilah did.

As the title suggests, Javier covets another vampire’s property.  Lilah is the human servant to the patron of the vampire theatre Javier helps run.  He’s kept his distance from her for the past two years, but his desire and hunger for her are proving to be too much.  After returning from a month long visit with his family in Central America, he’s pushed over the edge by costumes the human staff are now wearing (which means Lilah will have her assets on display) and the fact that she struck a vampire actor who went to far.  Javier suddenly finds himself alone with Lilah in an empty opera box and proceeds to show her just how erotic it is to watch the vampire show.

Javier isn’t the only one who has been fighting his feeling.  Lilah has wanted Javier from the moment she came to the theatre.  She’s heard the rumors of unbearable pain and suffering should she ever allow another vampire to touch her.  But when she and Javier have their erotic interlude in the box, she experiences none of the pain only the greatest pleasure imaginable.

It’s Lilah that convinces Javier to fight for what they have.  She’s willing to bend the very strict vampire rules to ensure Javier’s safety from punishment.  But it doesn’t take much to convince Javier that having Lilah by his side is exactly what he wants and needs.

This was an amazing, emotionally charged read that had me engaged from the opening paragraph.
