Just one night? Yeah, right. Pippa Laingley should have known better. When an unplanned evening of passion with Cameron Hollingsworth results in unplanned pregnancy, she’s at a crossroads. She knew going in that the enigmatic entrepreneur had built a fortress around his feelings. What she’s just discovered is that he’s loved and lost before—wife and child. Tragically.
Now Cam stands to lose it all again. If he lets Pippa get too close. If he pushes her away with loveless arrangements of financial support. Either way, he’s doomed…unless he can let himself love again.
This book brings to an end to the Pregnancy and Passion as the 4th book in the series by Maya Banks. This is only the second book of the series I’ve read, with the third book being my first. This is Cam and Pippa’s story. There is enough back story in the previous book for the reader to understand the characters, so starting the series with the first isn’t necessarily a must. I loved both Cam and Pippa in Tempted by Her Innocent Kiss, so I was excited to read their story.
The story begins as Pippa is catering an event for Devon and Ashley. This is, of course, a big deal to Pippa, who is the best friend of Ashley. Chaos ensues when Pippa’s help is non existant, making Cam come to her rescue. The night goes well, really well, and Cam escorts Pippa home, with him, for what they say is only one night. Guess what? Yes, Pippa becomes pregnant. This story unfolds in a mostly predictable way, with Cam wanting to keep Pippa safe in his house and, essentially unther his thumb, while Pippa doesn’t seem to want the help Cam insists he give.
Without giving the entire story away with this review, I’ll say I enjoyed the story, it’s characters, especially the epilogue. Undone by His Tender Touch was much more enjoyable than Tempted by Her Innocent Kiss. The love scenes were hot, don’t get me wrong, but they weren’t overly graphic and didn’t make me uncomfortable. Maya Banks has an amazing ability to tell a wonderful story, and this was no exception.
I give this one 4 cocktails. Cheers!
