After the worst Christmas Eve of his life, DEA Agent T.A. Reddick leaves Miami for the magical city of Charleston, South Carolina, hoping a return to his roots will heal a broken heart and the guilt of killing a friend. The sleepy and sultry town of Charleston is filled with echoes of the Old South: genteel playboys, society debutantes, and quiet cobblestone streets. But as Reddick will soon discover, there’s danger lurking under her charming veneer. When a movie star’s death shines a national spotlight on Charleston’s underground cocaine trade, he must go undercover to find the main supplier and shut him down. As a hurricane bears down on the port city and the DEA gets ready to spring its trap, Reddick must contend with more than he ever could have imagined.
Brash and bold, TA Reddick is a hero you won’t soon forget. Lowcountry Punch is an action-packed novel that will have you on your knees begging for more.

Boo Walker’s debut book about the not so glamorous life of undercover DEA Agent TA Reddick is gripping. After a drug bust goes bad TA is riddled with guilt over the death of a friend, finding himself persona non grata by the Miami/Dade Police and being labeled a cop killer to discovering his fiancee has left him on Christmas Eve, we share his journey as he returns home to South Carolina to try and rebuild his career and his life.

TA and his partner are suddenly forced to move their current investigation forward as they work to discover who was responsible for supplying drugs to the current Hollywood “It” boy who was killed when he took a cocaine induced fall off a hotel balcony.  TA soon finds himself inside the “good ole boys” network of Charleston high society and the drug scene that has ties to the past TA is trying to put behind him.

TA is a complex character that walks a very fine line and you wonder just how he’s able to keep it together.  Between the lies he must tell as he poses undercover with the drug dealers to having some of those dealers put a hit out on you, it makes you wonder why it is he does what he does.  Even when he finds a woman who manages to ease the pain of his past and make him think of the future again, he has to let her go for the benefit of his case.

The storyline is intriguing and keeps you in it’s grip as you turn each page to find out what TA will discover next.
