Reviewer’s Thoughts:

This was my first Donna Grant book.Β  I have to say, I wasn’t sure what to expect.Β  But after reading this book, I will be searching Amazon for the books in her previous highlander series.

To kick off the Dark Warrior series, we have the story of Gwynn and Logan.Β  Gwynn, an American from Texas, has hopped over to Scotland in search for her missing father.Β  When she gets to Scotland, she finds it’s much harder (and colder) than she imagined to find him.Β  But fate gives her a helping hand in the form of tall, dark, and kilt wearing Logan.

Logan has jumped forward in time hoping to find fellow warrior, Ian, and the dastardly villianess, Delilah, who has done nothing but wreak havoc stealing power from Druids in her attempt to gain ultimate power.Β  When he runs into Gwynn, he senses Druid power in her but he also feels an attraction he has never felt before.

Gwynn and Logan have a lot of obstacles in front of them.Β  They have to find her father, deal with her unrealized druid powers (which make her the keeper of an ancient druid artifact), try to thwart evils attempt to get the ancient book and find Logan’s warrior brother all while fighting the attraction they feel towards one another.Β  It’s not easy, especially when Logan feels like he’s not worthy of Gwynn’s affection due to things he’d done in the past.Β  But their faith in each other is what is needed to ensure they keep the tablet out of evil’s hand.Β

I started off the review by saying this was my first Donna Grant book.Β  While this is the start of a new series and I could completely follow along with the storyline, characters from the Dark Sword series played a vital role in helping Gwynn and Logan.Β  I will definitely be going back to read that series to see how everything inter-relates to each other.

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading Midnight’s Lover, which is Ian’s book.Β  I love nothing better than a Highlander being transported to present day and having to deal with a present day woman and all that alpha maleness.Β

I am a lover of alpha males with dirty mouths, strong heroines putting alpha males in their place, and the Chicago Blackhawks. I'm a proud hockey mom who can often be found at the hockey rink cheering on my favorite forward, with my kindle close by.
