Two years after losing her husband, overworked librarian Panna Kennedy battles to distract herself from crushing Grief, even as she battles to deal with yet another library budget cut. During a routine search within the libraryβs lower levels, Panna opens an obscure, pad-locked door and finds herself transported to the magnificent, book-filled quarters of a handsome, eighteenth-century Englishman.
She soon recognizes the man as Colonel John Bridgewater, the historic English war hero whose larger-than-life statue loomed over her desk. However, the life of the dashing Bridgewater is not at all what she imagined. Heβs under house arrest for betraying England, and now looks upon her a beautiful and unexpected half-dressed visitor as a possible spy.
Despite bad first impressions (on both sides), Bridgewater nonetheless warms to Panna, and pulls her into his escape while both their hearts pull the other headlong into their soul-stirring secrets.Very quickly Panna is thrown into a whirlwind of high-stakes intrigue that sweeps her from Hadrianβs Wall to a forbidding stone castle in Scotland. And somewhere in the outland, Panna must decide if her loyalties lie with her dead husband, or with the man whose life now depends on her.

Reviewer’s Thoughts:
Time traveling librarians, psychic Gaels, English War Heroes, Timeless Desire has it all. A little bit paranormal, a lot historical and quite a bit of intrigue thrown in for good measure, this novel has something for everyone. Cready takes us on a wild trip from present day Pittsburgh to the war torn borderlands of Scotland of the 1700s.
Our heroine being a librarian really threw me. It made me wonder if all librarians are closet wild women who love adventure as much as Panna does. It would certainly explain a lot. During work hours she is the dull, responsible librarian we are all familiar with. Once the library closes, however, she’s traveling through time and embroiled in intrigue. This librarian turned amateur spy is anything but meek, the perfect counterpart to our hero.
Very well written, it becomes readily apparent that Cready did her research well. Start to finish this book provided nonstop action and intrigue without once sacrificing on the romance. Fast paced without leaving the reader to a feeling of the storyline being rushed, Timeless Desire is a definite must read if you enjoy time travel and intrigue. I canβt wait to read more from this author.
