Ryan Doyle is an agent for the PEC, or Preternatural Enforcement Coalition. It’s his job to investigate crimes in the shadow world and hunt down anyone who breaks their laws. He is rigid and too serious a lot of the time. He is a ParaDaemon,half human half Daemon. Doyle has the ability to see and feel a person’s final moments before death.

Andy is a reporter and preacher’s daughter. Andy’s father believes that demon are destroying the world. When her cousin comes to her telling her that he just killed a Werewolf and he is part of a secret society called the Dark Warriors, she figured he is mistaken. She doesn’t believe in Vampires, Werewolfs and things that go bump in the night.

Andy and Doyle meet and their worlds collided. Doyle and Andy have a connection from the first time they meet.He is shocked by his attraction to her as he takes pride in his self-control.Their emotional bond is solid.  They fight their inner demons as well as destroy the true evil and save the world.
Ryan and Andy try to infiltrate the human group whose goal is to destroy the shadow world. As they team up in pursuit of a serial killers, his efforts to conceal his preternatural existence prove increasingly difficult while Andy wonders what she has gotten herself into.

The romance was sweet. I was glad to see Doyle’s story. This was a very good book and can’t wait to see if there will be more.
