Reviewer’s Thoughts:
Camilla becomes a companion to support her young son, after her husband dies. Finally finding position were she can keep her son with her.
Pierce, an Earl, has been enjoying all the entertainments his money can buy. Flaunting all of scandals.
Camilla sends Pierce a letter pretty much saying his estranged mother was on her death bed. Causing Pierce to rush to the country to be with her before she died. Only to find in perfect health. Deciding to say the night, and heading to home in the morning, he becomes intrigued by Camilla. Staying longer to become closer to her. Wanting her in away that he has never wanted another woman before.
Camilla tries to get Pierce and his mother to reconnect and get over the past hurts. Pierce says he can not forgive unless she tells, why she abandoned his as a child letting his father rule life so much that she wouldn’t visit or write to him. Pierce’s mother refuse to tell what wants know leaving him feeling that she must not care for him enough to let know what really happened.
The interactions between the characters kept me on my toes threw out the whole book. I could Feel Pierce’s and mothers heart break other the situation they were, both wanting to move forward but the same time needing to find closure for the past.
The romance between Camilla and Pierce was amazing and very well written. I really enjoyed reading Twas the Night After Christmas!
I give Twas the Night After Christmas five Cocktails!
