Posted September 30, 2012 by Shannon in / 0 Comments

Jaci Wright has been running from the Falladay twins, Chase and Cam, for seven years now.  Fears of the desires they arouse in her, and the knowledge of the relationship they wanted with her, spurred her to run, to find a life that kept her traveling the globe and out of their reach. But now life has come full circle.  A new job has placed Jaci in the Sinclair mansion with Chase and Cam.  And they’re tired of waiting.  It’s hard enough to face accepting a relationship with two men rather than just one, but gossip and the tattered tales of juicy secrets fill the society she now moves within.  Can Jaci face the world knowing she’s a lover to both men, or will her hesitancy and her fears destroy her chance of happiness forever?

Reviewer’s Thoughts:

I wish I could say this was my favorite book by Lora Leigh, but the truth of the matter is that it really wasn’t. Don’t get me wrong, it was a good book, there were just a couple of things that really worked my last nerve. Anyone who’s read anything by me knows I don’t do spoilers, so I won’t go into much detail. Suffice it to say that the threats against Jaci could have been resolved with a good lawyer. Instead we’re treated to all this unnecessary drama and angst over the issue revolving around her.

I did, however, enjoy the fact that Wicked Pleasure had a storyline that draws the reader in. It’s not just about the hot sex, how often they do it and in how many positions. The story is about the characters; who they are and what made them the adults they become. Jaci Wright has been in love with Cam Falladay since she was 10 years old. And Cam has been in love with this woman-child ever since she came across him while he was in a very dark place and ready to take his own life. This child, in all her innocence, unknowingly saves his life and gives him a reason to go on, if only to protect and watch over her. It would take a truly heartless person not to feel something when Jaci asks Cam to wait for her to grow up and she’ll take care of him. And as jaded as I feel at times, even I had an honest “awww” moment right then and there.

Even after Jaci essentially runs away from what it means to truly be with Cam, you know that romance novels being as predictable as they are, these two characters will somehow find a way back to each other eventually. What does come out of left field and made this book worth keeping and rereading again in the future is Cam. We all know from the very beginning that he’s got a tortured soul. We just don’t know why. That revelation was a twist I was not expecting which I now affectionately call my “OMG” moment. If you haven’t read it yet, trust me, you need to. It’s got identical twins that share, hot sex, some very touching moments and a real storyline. If you have read it… consider reading it again soon.
