Reviewer’s Thoughts:
Brynne Bennett moved to London to start anew to study Art at the University of London, but it’s her work as a nude model that catches the attention of private security firm owner, Ethan Blackstone. Ethan is captivated by Brynne the moment he sees her, but what Brynne thought was a fling quickly turns into so much more.
Brynne left the United States to start over after some traumatic event. She’s trying to rebuild her life and her trust in men. When she meets Ethan, she’s overwhelmed by him. He makes her feel protected and cherished, but he also pushes her to do what he wants, which scares her. When she finally gives into what she’s feeling for Ethan and decides to try and build a relationship with him, she finds out that Ethan hasn’t been all that truthful about how he ended up in Brynne’s life.
Ethan has his own demons he’s dealing with, but he knows immediately that Brynne is ‘the one’. He’d do just about anything to keep Brynne safe, even if he wasn’t hired to do so. He knows Brynne’s been traumatized and tries to give her the space she needs, but Ethan is overwhelmed by his feelings for her and tends to push his will on her.
I loved Brynne and Ethan. They were incredibly hot, from the very beginning, but also two people who definitely had personal demons that ruled their choices. The story cliffhangers and it made me extremely happy the second book in the series was available, but it is definitely a read worth picking up.
