A second chance never looked so good…
Bobbi-Jo Barker has been in love with the wrong man for years. A man who doesn’t fit into the perfect, controlled life she’s created.A man who not only broke her heart but nearly destroyed her. So the fact that he’s back in town shouldn’t matter because he’s all wrong for her, or so she thinks…
Shane Gallagher, prodigal son, ex-con, and all around hellion, has returned to the small town of New Waterford to mend fences and get his life back. What he doesn’t count on are the feelings he still has for the one woman who can break him—the one woman who is totally wrong for him.And yet, as Bobbi and Shane are thrown together and begin to navigate a life with each other in it, neither can deny the attraction they feel, or the emotions that come with it—the good and the bad. And so the question becomes… can these two damaged souls survive a second chance at love?

Reviewer’s Thoughts:
Shane Gallagher and Bobbi Jo Barker were a couple I just knew were going to be explosive from the moment we met them in Offside. They definitely did not disappoint.
Bobbi Jo Barker has been trying to make up for teenage mistakes by swinging to the other end of the pendulum. Working in a law firm and engage to a stiff, unexciting man was Bobbi’s way of curbing her wild tendencies. But on the morning of her wedding, Bobbi suddenly realizes that the man waiting for her at the church and the life he represents is not the life she wants to lead.
Shane Gallagher came back to New Waterford hoping to put the sins of the past behind him and move forward. But it seems the one person from his past that was his biggest downfall is the one he can’t let go of.
Bobbie Jo and Shane had a ton of baggage. So much so that I wondered as I read the book how they were ever going to get past the things that happened and that were said. But as with any couple that are truly meant to be together, their chemistry and feelings made it impossible for them to stay away from each other, even when they were trying to convince themselves they couldn’t stand the other. Even more amazing was looking at their situation with the eyes of an adult and seeing they each had a hand in what happened with them before and being willing to let it all go. It wasn’t easy for Shane or Bobbi Jo, especially when they were so used to blaming each other for many of the things that went wrong in their life, but once they did it was pretty special.
I can’t imagine how Juliana Stone is going to close out the series with Betty’s story, but I have a feeling it’s going to be explosive and an absolute joy to read.
