Who is Sebastian Lock?
The bar Sophia Pearce is in doesn’t look like much. The wine is bad and the decor worse. But when a sudden attack of curiosity leads her to sneak past security and into the back room, she discovers something unimaginable. The most lavish party she’s ever laid eyes on, in the most unlikely of places.
But that’s nothing compared to what comes next, to the man she meets back there. Sebastian Lock. Gorgeous, commanding, and radiating charm, he is exactly the sort of silver-tongued rake Sophia has sworn to avoid. Unfortunately, he doesn’t care much for her promises.
Every instinct tells her to run, but the chemistry between them is as inescapable as gravity. Soon, he’s opening her eyes to a whole new world of pleasures, pleasures she never thought she’d enjoy.
There’s just one problem. Sebastian is more than he seems. Between the famous company he keeps and the almost paranoid secrecy of his employers, he’s a puzzle Sophia can’t quite solve, and his insistence on keeping things casual forces her to confront the demons of her past.
Can she learn to trust again? Or will Sebastian’s privacy tear them apart?

Reviewer’s Thoughts
I loved this book. I really loved it, and I know it’s the first of a trilogy and I’m anxiously awaiting the next book. Sebastian Lock and Sophia Pearce are some of my new favorite characters.
I’m not always a fan of first person stories in erotic romance stories, but Sophia is such a fun character. I loved being in her head. Her thoughts and the way she’s a daredevil at times, she’s someone I would love to go to bar with. She’s adventurous, fun, and just the lady that everyone needs as a best friend. The way she didn’t immediately fall at Sebastian’s feet even though she was very turned on and wanted him badly was a great change from a lot of other books.
With the way we spend the book in Sophia’s head we don’t know that much about Sebastian except through her eyes. He’s gorgeous, mysterious, charming and very much in control. I liked him, and his pursuit of Sophia.
I did almost throw my Nook at the end of the book, but that’s because Ms. Cross ended it perfectly to have me screaming for the next book. I definitely commend her for her superb writing skills, she drew me in and involved me into the characters’ lives and I’m looking forward to the next two books and the conclusion of this trilogy. I think this is a great story for BDSM story fans that also love spunky heroines and mysterious heroes.
