Lost. That one single word best describes my life at this very moment. I lost the last games of the season and both my team and my coach blame me. I lost the last two months because I drowned in my own despair like a complete loser. And I lost the only girl who ever mattered because I was afraid being with me would destroy her.
But now I realize how truly lost I am without her. She has become my storyβ¦and even though she acts like sheβs moved on, I know she still thinks about me just as much as I think about her. Sheβs beautiful, sweetβand so damn vulnerable, all I want to do is help her. Be there for her.
Love herβ¦
If only I could convince Fable to give me a second chance. Then I wouldnβt feel so lost anymore, and neither would she. We could be found together.
Forever.

Reviewer’s Thoughts
I was lucky enough to be able to go from SEVEN DAY GIRLFRIEND right into this one.Β It definitely helped because I was still emotionally charged after finishing SDG and was able to get the emotional closure I needed after the crap these two had to deal with.
SECOND CHANCE GIRLFRIEND picks up a few months after the end of SDG.Β Drew and Fable are both trying to get their lives back on track.Β For Fable, that means getting a new job and finding a better place for her brother and herself.Β For Drew, it’s counseling and focusing on learning how to move forward.Β But for both of them, finding a better place and moving forward means learning how to support each other through the good and the bad.
This was an exceptionally hard read, because the depth of what Drew went through and just how sick Step Mommy Dearest was comes out.Β But then there is Fable’s “relationship” with her mother and just how little the woman cares for either of her children.Β You go from one extreme to another with both sets of parents and it makes you wonder just how Fable or Drew manage to get out of bed everyday.
But what I loved most about this story was how Drew and Fable learned how to lean on each other.Β They’d never had anyone they could share all the bad stuff with, so it took a bit for both of them to figure out just how to do it.Β But when they did, they found the two of them together were so much stronger and could deal with just about anything that came their way.
I loved, loved, loved this series, but especially this book.Β Monica Murphy is now on my must read list.
