Reviewer’s Thoughts

Lady Caroline Wilm is determined to control at least part of her future—-who takes her maidenhead. She meets unknowingly meets Lord Taran Blackhall while attending a costume party and the fireworks begin. She marries the next day and finds that the sexual chemistry with her husband causes her to lose all inhibitions to the delight of her husband. Hence the title improper wife. I loved the characters they didn’t try to go the Puritanical route in their arranged marriage. They were quite creative in the ways and places they became intimate. The intimate scenes were well written with a little coarse language but it fit nicely with the elements of the story. Taran and Caroline have many experiences including being shot. The author easily marries the romance to intrigue/mystery/suspense. Their characters are detailed and you feel a connection with them immediately. I loved their interaction with each other and the progression of their relationship was easily seen in the dialogue. The plot moved swiftly and kept me engaged. I stayed up to finish this book and it was definitely worth the lost sleep. There were no dull moments or abrupt character changes which gave the book consistency. I loved everything…believable characters, interesting plot, and enough steam to keep you going back for more!
