16130410The first installment in a sexy new paranormal romance series by Larissa Ione, author of the bestselling Demonica series!

A WOMAN OUT FOR BLOOD
Nicole Martin was only eight years old when the vampire slaves rose up in rebellion and killed her family. Now she devotes her life to finding a vaccine against vampirism, hoping to wipe out her memoriesβ€”along with every bloodsucker on the planet. But there’s one thing she cannot destroy: her searing, undeniable attraction for the one man she should hate and fear the most . . .

A VAMPIRE OUT FOR REVENGE
A member of the renegade vampire MoonBound Clan, Riker is haunted by demons of his own. When he recognizes Nicole and remembers how her family enslaved his loved ones, his heart burns for vengeance. But when he kidnaps Nicole and holds her in a secret lair, his mortal enemy becomes his soul obsession, his greatest temptation, and, perhaps, his only salvationβ€”a hot-blooded lover who could heal him with her touch . . . or bury him forever.

Reviewer’s Thoughts

I’m probably only one of the only people on the planet who haven’t read everything Larissa Ione has written, and after reading Bound by Night, the first in a new series by her, I finally see what I’ve been missing out on. I really enjoyed it. There is some major world building going on and I think that could be hard for some readers. This is a promising start to a new series.

I love the different idea of vampires as slaves and the way that Ms. Ione gives them a foundation with Native American roots and traditions.

I really liked the characters. Nicole and Riker don’t seem like characters who could fall in love but somehow Ms. Ione makes it work. She allows Nicole and Riker to find the good in each other and does it beautifully. They are both strong characters in their own right, and I enjoyed getting to know them.

There is a great cast of secondary characters that support the main characters throughout the whole story.

I highly recommend this story for both fans of Larissa Ione and new fans alike. It’s a great start to a new series and I can’t wait to read the next in the series. I look forward to seeing where she takes the rest of the characters and how this world continues to change and unfold.
