15810918New York Times bestselling author Janet Chapman welcomes you back to Spellbound Falls, where love and magic can conquer anything…

After forty years of marriage, Rana Oceanus has done the unthinkable and run away from her mighty, magical husband. Not that she ran very far, having purchased a house in Spellbound Falls right on the shore of the Bottomless Sea, where she intends to prepare for the scariest battle of her life. The only flaw in her plan, however, is that she is still very much in love with Titus…

Shocked and deeply shaken that his wife really has left him—though he still can’t fathom why—Titus sets out to win her back. But when grand gestures of his esteem don’t seem to further his cause, he conjures up some of his original courtship magic to capture the heart of the beautiful young maiden all over again.

Then his plan takes a dangerous turn when Titus discovers that dealing with demons is far less threatening than the little secret his very mortal wife has been keeping from him…

Reviewer’s Thoughts

In a surprising twist to most romance novels I’ve read, Janet Chapman tells the story of a couple married for forty years in For the Love of Magic, as this is the fifth book in her Spellbound Falls series, I was already well acquainted with Rana and Titus Oceanus and I was excited for their story.

Full of secrets and magic, I was easily enchanted by Rana and Titus’s story, they already love each other deeply, but watching Titus try and woo her back was a real treat. They’re both keeping some pretty big secrets from each other and those secrets are very integral to the story.

Rana has always been a strong character in my opinion, the fact that she has to deal with Titus on a daily basis is proof of that, but she doesn’t seem to realize all of her worth. Titus is used to things going smoothly and getting his way so when Rana throws him curveballs, I thoroughly enjoyed watching him attempt to keep up with them.

Overall, I deeply enjoyed this story, but I truly believe it would be best enjoyed after reading the others in the series. It’s possible someone could read it as a standalone, but I think full enjoyment will come after getting to know Titus and Rana from the other books. I look forward to more Spellbound Falls books in the future.
