Reviewer’s Thoughts
Sydney Landon turns up the heat between socialite Mia Gentry and resort owner Seth Jackson in her Betting on You novella. Mia works a dream job at Danvers International in a career that her parents never envisioned for her, and is thrown together for a work assignment with Seth. Their sizzling attraction is undeniable, but neither wants to mix business with pleasure. When Mia’s mother buys Seth as her date they share a hot night together, but agree to put their relationship on hold until the end of the project.
Sydney Landon does a good job of making Mia and Seth’s story sexy, and the attraction between the two is undeniable as they spend time together working on a remodel. The author does a good job focusing on the flirtation and their relationship as opposed to just having them jump into bed with each other right away. Mia maintains her femininity and thrives in a job that is traditionally geared for men, and makes no apologies for wanting her own career despite what her parents think. Seth is a take charge CEO who finds himself following the one girl that may not want to be under his control, and their pathway to a relationship is interesting to read. Betting on You provides a great read for an afternoon, and is a great continuation of the Danvers series.
