Reviewer’s Thoughts
I was really looking forward to reading this book. The synopsis sounded great and I love suspense stories. However, I ended up having mixed feelings after I finished it. The story started a little slow and was quickly switching point of views. It took me a while to get into the book and I really enjoyed the premise of the story, but the pacing felt off. I kept feeling like something was missing. The story went by too fast and a lot of questions went unanswered.
The author shows a lot of promise and I think if the book was lengthened into a full story, it would be an excellent book. Going back to the pacing, the story felt kind of jerky as it went quickly from one point of view to the next. By adding more βmeatβ to the story, I think it would smooth out the pacing and make it a more enriching read.Β I would have loved to have more page time with Amelia and Richβs love story and more of Questβs character. She is a courageous young lady and would have loved more from her.
Iβm not sure if this book will be in a series but Iβd definitely check future books out if Iβm able to see more of the people in this snowy Montana town.
