“Under the Alpha’s Protection” is a nice, short read, and it’s quite enjoyable. I read it in about an hour and a half. The perfect book to read just before bedtime.
Nikita and Raoul(The Alpha of his pack)have been friends for a very long time. His feelings for her run very deep. He knows that she’s his mate, but she doesn’t realize that. When she’s horribly attacked, he wants to do anything he can to protect her. ANYTHING.
I’m not going to spoil it for you. The rest is quite satisfying. Their romance begins and becomes deep quickly, but it seems to fit due to the short length of the book. There is a LOT of sex, but it’s GOOD sex. It’s well written and extremely hot. Doris O’Connor always gives us some action in her novels, and this one is no exception. We discover that it’s not always the Alpha Male who kicks ass 🙂
I loved the end and how the story wrapped up quickly, but neatly. If I had one single complaint about the whole thing would be that Raoul constantly refers to Nikita as “Squirt”. I know it’s an affectionate nickname, but it’s kind of overused. As a woman in a loving relationship, I think I’d like something a little more “adult” from my man.
If you’re looking for a quick shifter novel that will stir your inner wolf, this is a good one!
