Reviewer’s Thoughts
Black Princess opens up as quite an interesting narrative by Jim Power. The novel revolves around a beautiful, super intelligent, rich Black woman with a Russian background. Tasheka Green is studying criminology and finds the body of a the community priest buried in the snow. She is fascinated by female serial killers. Could she be one of the few female killers? Tasheka Green is wrapped up in the mysterious murder of Father Tim Murphy and his hatred for Mike.
Mike Power, a mechanic, a golf player and very competitive to the point that he is suspected of killing the priest who beat him at a championship golf match.
The story seems disjointed at times. The chemistry between the characters lacks cohesive energy.
Mr. Power has good writing abilities but this book runs off the beaten path with the twist and turns that appear to lead to nowhere special. I kept reading Black Princess Mystery hoping it would unearth some plausible sensibilities.
Tasheka, multimillionaire, student, and black woman who has a great desire for white men. She finds white men attractive but does not understand why. The relationship with Adam is odd just as her connection with the detective investigating the murder.
Black Princess Mystery is a puzzle that I could not put the many pieces together to create a challenging thought provoking mystery to make it more enjoyable. There were too many missing pieces to this story for me to really enjoy. Perhaps you can.
