Reviewer’s Thoughts

3.5 Cocktails

The first three volumes in the TOKEN series, was interesting.  I like the fact that Farren was willing to do whatever she needed to in order to ensure her mother received the proper medical care.  I don’t think I personally would do what she did, but I applaud her in taking care of her mother.

I enjoyed the relationship between Farren and Mick.  They seemed to have a lot of chemistry, but I kept waiting for the shoe to drop when Mick found out what Farren was doing.  While Mick often came across as pushy, you could tell that he was a man who would do anything for the people he loves.

My only complaint was the inner monologues of Farren.  We spent a lot of time in her head.  I know it was important to get the mindset of the character, it just felt like she talked more to herself than she did to her best friend or Mick.

There was a creep factor with Farren’s step-father, but I’m hoping we can get rid of him soon and move onto Mick and Farren’s HEA in volumes 4, 5 and 6.
