When Sky finds a critically injured Xyran warrior, she can’t just let him die. She drags the unconscious alien home and dresses his wounds. He’s difficult and arrogant, but she’s more than enough woman to deal with him until he’s gone. So what if he intrigues her? The last thing she can afford to do is fall for an alien.
Jaxt knows the betrayers who left him for dead on Earth will not live long: his bond-kin, Zoen, will paint the warship’s walls with their blood. All he must do now is wait for Zoen to come. Unfortunately, the human woman who found him rouses his deepest instincts… Instincts he’d forgotten he had.
When Zoen finds Jaxt on Earth, he’s not sure he approves of the female who cared for his kin. However, when Sky kills a Xyran about to attack, he understands Jaxt’s insistence that she is their mate. Any female who shows such courage is worthy of his blood, and maybe even his heart.

Reviewer’s Thoughts
I just finished reading Broken (Planet Alpha) and while I liked this book it was nothing spectacular. It was a really short read. There was just not enough character development and the story itself did not capture my imagination. This could be a really good series though if it was written with a bit more depth to the characters and the story.
Sky was very stubborn and self sufficient, she was a survivor in her own right, when she rescues Jaxt she has no idea (or maybe she does) what she is getting herself into. Jaxt is a complete jerk at first, but he comes around. Zoen is a bit more mysterious but is the more romantic of the two males. I would have loved to have learnt more about their bond and about their back story, same with Sky. There was just not enough information about the characters to truly feel like you got to know them. There is one really good erotic sex scene in this book, if you like a MMF menage then you will enjoy this part of the book.
I think the author could really have a great series here if she could develop the story a bit more. If you like short sci-fi reads then this is not a terrible read. It just needs some more work to make it a great read.
