What happens when a girl who always calls the shots meets a guy who’s too wild for even her?
A born flirt and good-time party girl, Emerson has never had a problem finding a willing guy. She’s always chosen her hookups carefully, and she’s never broken her three cardinal rules:
Never let them see the real you.
Never fall in love.
Always leave them begging for more.
Then Shaw comes along. A hottie from the wrong side of the tracks, he’s immune to her flirtatious banter and come-hither smile. After rescuing her from a disastrous night at a biker bar, he doesn’t even try to take her to bedβhe calls her a tease and sends her home instead. Unable to resist a challenge, or forget the sexy, dark-eyed, bad-boy biker, she vows to bring him to his knees.
But instead of making Shaw beg, Emerson finds herself craving him. For the first time in her life, she’s throwing out her rule book. Suddenly, she’s the one panting for a guy she can’t controlβa guy who won’t settle for anything less than the real Emerson and who forces her to do things she’s never imagined, including facing a past she thought she’d buried.
A guy who just might leave her wanting more. . . .Series: The Ivy Chronicles #2

Reviewer’s Thoughts
If you haven’t read Sophie Jordan’s first book in this series FOREPLAY, read it first! Β I loved this book. Β Foreplay was pure enjoyment that made you feel like you were in college again plus it was filled with tons of sexiness, swoon worthy bartender, and a girl we can all identify with in some manner. Β Sophie Jordan didnβt surpoass FOREPLAY with TEASE but it was definitely a good read. TEASE follows Emerson, who we meet in FOREPLAY and Pepper’s best friend. Β Emerson is a flirt, a tease, the good time girl. Β She has created her less than stellar reputation on purpose, it allows her to maintain control. Β Emerson’s past haunts her and she needs control. Β Control makes her feel strong.
Enter Shaw….and man, is he yummy on a stick. Β The best part about Shaw, he sees straight through Emerson’s BS. Β He knows she is hiding behind the facade. Β He calls her on it and it knocks her for a loop. Β He is definitely an alpha male but I find it refreshing that he doesn’t put up with any of the ridiculous crap that Emerson dishes out. Β Shaw wants a relationship from Emerson, not a one night stand. Β The girl doesn’t know how to control him and it causes a bit of drama. Β But you have to give credit where credit is due, Shaw is persistent and he is determined to get the “real” Emerson to make an appearance. Β This was a good addition to the series and I can’t wait for Georgia’s story in WILD!
Tell us about yourself.
Sophie Jordan grew up in the Texas hill country where she wove fantasies of dragons, warriors, and princesses. A former high school English teacher, she’s also the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Avon historical romances. She now lives in Houston with her family. When she’s not writing, she spends her time overloading on caffeine (lattes and Diet cherry Coke preferred), talking plotlines with anyone who will listen (including her kids), and cramming her DVR with true-crime and reality-TV shows. Sophie also writes paranormal romances under the name Sharie Kohler.
What three things about you might surprise your readers?
I can drive a tractor.
Iβve visited Russia twice.
I donβt believe in following recipes.
Is there a genre(s) that you think βI might like to write one of those.β?
Hm. I already write YA, NA, paranormal, historical romance β¦ Not sure what else I might like toΒ try. My plate is pretty full!
Tell us about TEASE.
TEASE is the second book in the Ivy Chronicles series . Itβs the story of Emerson, a character that was introduced in FOREPLAY, the first Ivy Chronicles book. Sheβs a bit of a party girl who meets her match in Shaw, a guy just home from the Marines who calls her out on her usual shenanigans.Β
Where did the idea for the storyline come from?
I just got the burning desire to write a new adult after reading EASY by Tammara Webber. I really loved it, and I had so many great experiences during my college years and early twenties β things that were either happening to me or my friends. My Ivy Chronicles series is just something I can really relate to β¦ even though itβs fiction and escapism at its best, FOREPLAY and TEASE felt authentic/realistic.Β
What do you think readers will like/love about Shaw and Emerson?
Well. Shaw is sexy and noble and that perfect fantasy guy (without being perfect because perfection is boring). I hope that Emerson really feels relatable β¦ a bit like every woman. I think readers will see that sheβs the kind of girl youβd want to be friends with.Β
Β
What was your favorite scene from the book?
Oh. Thatβs a hard one. I love the opening scene where they first meet and Emerson inadvertently starts a bar brawl.Β
Who are some of your book boyfriends?Β What draws you to them?
Well, I mentioned loving EASY. I also love the heroes in Jennifer Armentroutβs and Tessa Baileyβs book. These heroes are strong and almost shockingly direct. A girl knows where they stand with them. Oh. And theyβre SEXY-HOT!
If you had to pick a favorite cocktail of choice, what would it be?Β (It can be non-alcoholic too)
Mojito β¦ and Iβm also a fan of mango margaritas.
Whatβs next for you?
I have a historical releases in Aug, called A GOOD DEBUTANTEβS GUIDE TO RUIN. And WILD, the third book in the Ivy Chronicles series, releases this November.
