Reviewer’s Thoughts

This story starts immediately following the first book, and we see Angelica embrace helping Reyes with his goals. She is already half in love with him because of his drive to end the depravity of the slave trades.

There is both a beauty and a brutality to the clubs they must enter in order to gather the information to bring the slave trade down. Some scenes were exceptionally sensual while others are so brutal that I could feel Angelica’s horror with what she’s seeing.

I enjoyed the trust that Angelica gives Reyes, and that Reyes doesn’t take that trust lightly. It made him even more honorable and a great hero. There is a twist thrown into this section of the trilogy and it left me screaming for the next book. I have to know what happens next.

I really enjoy this author’s style and while this kind of abrupt ending isn’t my normal cup of tea, this time it fits the story well, and I can only hope my wait for the next and final piece won’t be too long.
