Reviewer’s Thoughts
Birch Callahan has her reasons not to trust men, and she runs a womenβs shelter so she sees the worst of relationships all the time. Sheβs unprepared when Niall starts courting in his understated way.
Niall is a man out of time, heβs a highland warrior from the twelfth century who is trying to be a lawman in a time where law is not as cut and dry as it was in his time. Heβs not used to the time and the new ways of dating. He does know he wants Birch. I enjoyed the way Niall has to overcome and learn about the present in order to get Birch to fall in love with him.
This story still has all the magic Iβve come to expect from Spellbound Falls and Ms. Chapman, but it took a backseat other than Niall being from the past. We get a bit of magic and new god involvement, but even with those elements it wasnβt too much magic involved with all aspects. This is probably because neither Birch nor Niall are magic users. I really enjoyed being back in Spellbound Falls and catching up with past characters. I do hope there are more stories to come, and that Birchβs mom finds her happily ever after too.
