Reviewer’s Thoughts
The Scenic Route was not as predictable as many “romance” novels are. In some ways, it was typical. Boy meets girl (although in this case they knew each other as children but he never noticed her). They despise each other, then they are attracted to each other. One thing leads to another…
Austin and Naomi don’t seem to be a match made in heaven when they meet/get re-aquainted at a friend’s wedding. However, by the end of that weekend they make a connection that seems like it could be “it”. As often happens in relationships, there are misunderstandings and misinterpretations that lead them apart. Sipher does a great job of creating circumstances for Austin & Naomi that keep them apart. They were realistic circumstances & situations, which I appreciated as the reader. And just when you think they are FINALLY going to get together and make it work, something else happens! Sipher also developed other characters and plots that kept the stoy interesting.
While at times heart wrenching, this story was entertaining and humorous. I also felt it was believable which I like in my romance books! Give it a read!
