Gavin Mathis is ready to settle down. He’s quit his job and come home to Shadow Maverick Ranch to do just that. Too bad his decision caused his beautiful former colleague to lose her job.
Lauren Delgado is a no-nonsense businesswoman. She’s had a crush on Gavin for years, but has a strict “hand-off” policy with the men she works with. When her life takes an unexpected turn, there’s nothing to stop her from accepting his invitation to Galveston Island, where the policy is definitely hands-on.

Reviewer’s Thoughts
This was great sexy and sweet read. The heat level was scorching and the sex was hot! The author didn’t waste any time with developing the chemistry between the two main characters and as a reader you were drawn into the story right from the first page.
I loved Gavin and Lauren and they had an undeniable chemistry between the two of them. Not acting on their feelings for the entire time they worked together, when they finally did their relationship and the sex was explosive. It doesn’t take long for these two to become more than just friends and colleagues and the chemistry is definitely on the hot side right from the minute they are alone. Gavin is the sexy as sin man that every woman fantasizes about, add to it that he is a cowboy at heart and he becomes even more tantalizing. Lauren is his perfect match, she is sweet, caring and definitely sexy in her own way. I love that she is her own person and not a whiny needy character. Her and Gavin compliment each other well.
Even though this was a shorter novella the storyline was fantastic and it was really well developed. It gives you a glimpse of the Mathis family and what might be in store for you in the next book in the series. The only thing I can complain about is that I wanted more closure at the end of the book, I felt that was the only place the author deprived me of something special. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. This book delivered everything you want in a romance. I would highly recommend this book.
