Guys like Joel Wentworth weren’t supposed to fall in love with girls like me. He could have had his pick of the girls on campus, but somehow the laws of nature were defied and we fell crazy in love.
For a short time, I thought it would be for infinity.
On July 10, 2006, immediately after graduation, Joel left for New York. And, despite him wanting me to go with him, I’d refused, unwilling to disappoint my parents and risk the judgment of my friends. I hadnβt seen him again. Never even spoke to him.
I’ve spent the last eight years working hard to put my career front and center in my life, dodging any personal complications. I have a strict no-dating policy. I’ve managed to piece together a reality that works for me.
Until now.
Now, Joel’s coming back to London.
And I need to get over him before he gets over here.
Hopeful is a stand alone novel.

I’ve been on a reading binge lately with hot, sexy British heroes. Β And HOPEFUL was one that was an absolute delight and had me wishing for a bit more of Joel Wentworth. Β There were so many things that I loved about the story. Β The second chance romance, the angst of Ava and Joel seeing each other again and the friendship between the group of friends. Β The author creates such a fabulous story and characters that you can’t help but fall totally into the story and the romance.
Ava and Joel has a unique relationship. Β I loved the way they were with each other in college and how Joel brought Ava out of her shell. Β I never liked the idea that their relationship was a secret, but I could see how shy Ava never believed that someone as popular as Joel could want her. Β But Joel was the epitome of the perfect boyfriend and it was hard not to feel sorry for Joel a little bit more than Ava when their relationship ended. Β So when they meet again ten years later, I was just as nervous as Ava. Β But I should have known that Joel was going to be that guy who was so cool and perfect that everything Ava thought she had put behind her with Joel would come rushing back.
I highly recommend HOPEFUL. Β Louise Bay creates such an engaging world that you can’t help but find yourself mesmerized. Β The characters stick with you and have you wishing there was more to the story by the time you get to the last page.
I write sexy, romantic, contemporary novels – the kind I like to read!
Ruined by romantic mini-series of the seventies and eighties, I love all things romantic. There’s not enough of it in real life so I’ll settle for books and films.
I love the rain, the West Wing, London, days when you don’t have to wear make-up, being alone, being with friends, elephants and champagne.
