Even sweet cowboys have a sinful side…

Robert Lawson—Bubba to his friends—is six feet, four inches of tall, dark, and handsome cowboy, with a panty-melting voice and a face made to launch a country music career. But when his family’s ranch hands go down with the flu, Robert cancels his high-profile auditions in Austin, and returns home to Lonesome Point to help out. Fortune and fame are all well and good, but family and friends come first. Besides, he’s ready to enjoy some off-the-clock time with his manager, a woman who has him dying to show her what a good man can do to a woman when he’s given permission to be bad.

Marisol Medina has been looking for her golden ticket since she became a country music manager. A scandal with one of her clients nearly destroyed her, but now she’s close to launching an artist who will make her career. Robert Lawson has it all—talent, charisma, and a naughty side that flicks all of Marisol’s kinkier switches. But Robert is off limits. She refuses to mix business and pleasure, even if it will be hell resisting temptation while spending a week at the Lawson family ranch, doing her best to convince Robert to ditch the saddle and embrace his future as a star.

But as Marisol and Robert grow closer and the passion between them ignites, Marisol must decide if fear is stronger than love, or if a chance at forever is worth breaking all her rules.

Reviewer’s Thoughts

3.5 Cocktails

Bubba was introduced to us in Leather and Lace (the first book in this series), but a man who appeared as a bit of a country boy was so much more…especially when we know him more by his first name, Robert, rather than the ridiculous nickname.

Bubba takes off from Lonesome Point, Texas to see if he can make it in the music business.  It goes against everything his family believes in, but he gives himself a few weeks to make it happen.  He even goes so far as to hire a manager, Marisol, to help move things along.  But he never expected to fall for his manager.  And despite the mutual attraction between Marisol and Robert, she fights what she’s feeling because she’s been burned once by making poor decisions with one of her clients.  But time at Robert’s family ranch and their burning chemistry prove to be too much for Marisol to fight.

I liked Bubba/Robert so much more in this story.  He’s smart, sexy and with an absolutely dirty mouth.  I loved how he was going against his family and determined to see if he could make his dreams come true.  He put that same determination in getting Marisol on board with making their relationship more than a professional one.  Marisol has had it tough.  Truly on her own since her family disowned her, she’s determined to not fall into the same mistake the caused her to be where she is now.  Robert doesn’t know what is keeping Marisol from acting on their mutual attraction, but he slowly breaks down the wall she’s trying to hide behind.

This was an entertaining story that was fun and sexy.  If you like hot cowboys with dirty mouths, this is definitely one to pick up.
