Love burns hotter the second time around…
Two years ago, the medical world was shaken by scandal, and Payton Daniels’s family was at the center of it. The second she graduated, Payton left everything behind―her high school sweetheart, her family, and the controversy surrounding her mother’s death—and hid within the anonymity of college. But Payton’s ex, Blake Hiller, hasn’t forgiven her for leaving, and when he enrolls in the same medical ethics class, she panics. She can’t run the risk of him telling everyone who she really is.
As if being at the same university isn’t enough, both Blake and Payton land the same internship. Forced together, their passion for each other reignites, but when Payton is asked to testify in her father’s high-profile trial, she must choose between risking her acceptance into medical school to help her father, and losing every connection to her past—including the only guy she’s ever loved.

Reviewer’s Thoughts
Unethical was a great read and a book that was rather difficult to put down. I loved the characters and the conflict that was involved that helped not only to evolve the characters but illustrate to the reader the world of the Payton and Blake. The beginning of the book draws you in and the ending is one that does not disappoint. Payton takes you on a ride of high’s and lows with her inner demons as she deals with working toward her future and dealing with her past. You can identify with her if you have ever wanted to just run away from your past without dealing with it and the knowledge that one day you have to confront the past and face your demons. There were times I wanted to reach through the book to strangle Payton and tell her what she should do but that is the great part of a well written book you have to remind yourself that you can not do that. Blake is someone that you can relate to if you ever needed to know why things happened in a certain way and need to explain why you acted the way you did. As well as the confusion of not knowing why someone else acted how they did and how and if you should approach and confront them.
Blake and Payton both had emotional baggage and conflicts that they needed to handle, face and fight. Blake could easily become your next book boyfriend with how endearing he is but I warn you the man is stubborn but hardworking and gorgeous so what is there not to love. Payton is confident, driven and beautiful. She has some of the very characteristics that you would want others to see in you. The plot was great and the outcome of part of the conflict resolution did surprise me. I was extremely happy about how the book flowed especially the way some times the author jumps to another day or week but is very clear about the change and there is no confusion. The pace of the book was just right I never got bored, I had a hard time putting the book down, and it was not so fast paced that it made my head spin. The dialogue was believable and not ridiculous. The author used dialogue that sounded like college students making it even easier to slip into the world that Jennifer Blackwood created. I loved Unethical and Jennifer Blackwood now has me looking for more of her books. I think this is great book. As I am someone who loves to reread books that I like, this is one that I will definitely reread in the future.
