I have been with my Master for many years now. I’m grateful for the love he has given me, yet…when he made Bazil his favorite it tore my heart out. I know he loves me….damn, I hate this…I hate feeling anything. This anger that boils inside me I’m finding it harder and harder to control. Master can sense it and he is trying to help me. No one can help me. My mother hated me. I caused my little brother to lose his sight. Master Xanthos gave me away and now my Master has chosen another favorite submissive. Then I think about what I do have now. My Master protects me. He even has found a doctor to give my brother his sight back. Damn, all this crap swirling around my mind. I feel like I’m going to explode. Master Xanthos, my dead mother, my Master’s love for Bazil, my little brother being trained to be a Master, there is just too much. My anger rises up inside me almost blinding me to my actions that someday I will hurt her. I know this in my heart. Tonya…the way she looks at me, the way she tries to love me, but who could really love me. Nothing will break these chains I have forged. – Master Dante’s Apollo
I love you, Apollo, why can’t you just let me love you? Why can’t you see yourself the way I see you? – Tonya

Reviewer’s Thoughts
Chains of Apollo is the twenty-ninth book in the Master series by Justus Roux. This book is best read as part of the series but this book can be also read as a standalone novel.
Apollo is a unique and violent man. He battles his anger and his past at every turn. He can not control his temper and seems to go into violet rages. His Master seems to be the only one that can control Apollo and even that seems to be just barely. While on the outside Apollo is a hot and sexy man, inside he is a broken little boy who has been hurt by so many in his life.
Tonya is Apollo’s submissive. Tonya was given to Apollo by his Master for a reason that is not really clear until the end of the book. Tonya was from an abusive situation before being placed in Master Dante’s house. Tonya loves Apollo and wants the best for him even though Apollo has hurt her when he goes into his rages. Apollo sees Tonya in a different light than any other submissive and that is apparent all the way through the book.
Master Dante is Apollo’s Master. He is the Master of pain and humiliation. Apollo was Master Dante’s first submissive and he loves him very much however Apollo and Master Dante share some the same qualities like the uncontrollable anger but not all. Master Dante has a new favorite submissive (that is not Apollo) and this has helped lead to an unstable house and an unstable Apollo.
I loved that this book does not have a dueling story line that is present in many of the books in this series. This book seems to stay on the main topic of the book all the way through, which I loved as well. While Apollo is a difficult character, this book gives you a better perspective of him. Ms. Roux does introduce a few new characters which include a Master with his submissive’s from a different community. The sex scenes all through the book are hot and steamy. I like the verity as well. Some scenes were a mix of pain and pleasure and others are only pleasure.
Ms. Roux has done a great job of continuing the soap opera feel in this book that is present in other books. This book is well written with a fascinating plot. As with the past book, the main and secondary characters are mesmerizing and realistic. Each of the main and secondary characters have good points and faults that are shown equally throughout the book. I had a hard time putting this book down. I loved the ending of this book because like many of Ms. Roux’s books the ending can never be predicated. I enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
