Reviewer’s Thoughts
Employee of the month
What happens when two people are so attracted to each other that they break all of the rules?Β True love happens.
In Employee of the month hotel employee, Holly Wilder, and hotel owner, Max Lazzari, forget about the rules and engage in a once a month no strings steamy hot affair.Β Holly loves her job and puts up with her awful boss but the icing on the cake is the one weekend a month that Max is in town.Β The two lovers get a surprise when Holly becomes pregnant.Β They know that their current situation canβt continue, but they arenβt where to go from there.Β Holly and Max confront the issues of their past and work their way through multiple misunderstandings to find their happy ending.
I absolutely enjoyed the way the author did a great job of showing how the issues from their parentsβ failures and their previous relationships played a role in their lives.Β I think everyone can relate to not wanting to make the mistakes that their parents made or that they made in previous relationships.Β The author takes that a step further and shows how basing current relationship decisions on past pain can cause an individual to miss out on love.Β She did an excellent job of using two broken individuals to illustrate that love is about taking a chanceβ¦a leap of faithβ¦and making a new reality.
The story moved along at a fast pace.Β The characters were likable, and I was easily able to relate to each one.Β The chemistry between Holly and Max leaped off the page.Β Holly was the epitome of the modern day independent woman.Β Maxβs character was strong and yet heartbreakingly vulnerable.Β I just wanted to give them both a hug and tell them it was going to be okay.Β I was cheering for them from the beginning to the end.Β I literally stayed up all night to be sure they were going to be okay.Β Thatβs how hooked I was by these characters and this story.Β I canβt wait to read her next book.
