Reviewer’s Thoughts

I am writing this review with a heavy heart.

I absolutely loved the first book in the series so when I was offered the chance to review the second book, I was thrilled. Alas, I am sad because I didn’t enjoy the book as much as I wanted to. It’s truly disheartening L

Yes, the story was completely amazing and the heat level is off the charts! Yes, there is action, excitement, danger with war on the horizon. And yes, the characters are engaging and the plot is brilliantly crafted. So why wasn’t I head over heels in love with this book? I honestly don’t have the answer.

The story started off a little unexpectedly and I had a difficult time getting into it. I think my expectations were too high and when those expectations weren’t met, I ended up disappointing myself and doing a great disservice to the author and the story. I’d like to re-visit it at a later date to see if I can capture the love I felt while reading the first book.

The following two tabs change content below.
I am a lover of alpha males with dirty mouths, strong heroines putting alpha males in their place, and the Chicago Blackhawks. I'm a proud hockey mom who can often be found at the hockey rink cheering on my favorite forward, with my kindle close by.

  1. Elizabeth!

Thank you for the 4 glass review … I’m happy about your kind words, yet sad you weren’t able to ‘fall in love’ ~ I hate disappointing a reader…if you can put your finger on what it was that kept you from falling in love, please drop me a private e and let me know…it will help me in future books! I’m hoping to win you back with book three.
Book two is what I call a bridge book – the book that takes you from one world into another and is in the calm or rest part of the series (peaks and valleys) plot line…perhaps, that’s what kept you from loving Phantom Desire….not as action packed, it was more of an emotional journey.

Again, thank you for the great review!!! You’re awesome!
    Hugs
    Houston
