Reviewer’s Thoughts
What a great book! The author had well developed characters and a way of writing that drew me in right away. I loved both Cam and Vanessa as well as the other members of this family. It takes you through how not talking things out and airing your thoughts can lead to many misunderstandings and hurt feelings. Both Cam and Vanessa had a lot in common but each had difficulties talking about their feelings to the other. Everyone could see what they could not. Vanessa was very head strong and not one for admitting being wrong. She felt that no one could possibly love her for the long haul as every boyfriend she ever had did and never lasted past a couple of dates. I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good romantic read with some steamy sex thrown in.
βColin,β Cam tried again. βYou know dumping water on someone in the shower is a no-no. And especially Ubieβs new girlfriend.β Ubieβshort for Uncle Brody. Brody Singer, the blond βadoptedβ McCauley who had grown up as part of the family
βBut he told me to do it.β
Cam blinked. βHe did? Well, you should neverββ
βDad thought it was kind of funny after he yelled at me.β Colin gave him a sharp nod, then added with a smirk, βDad said he used to do that to you, and that you cried like a girrrl.β Considering Colinβs anti-girl phase, that was a high insult.
βIs that right?β Cam frowned, remembering being the butt of too many jokes while growing up. βMike has no idea what heβs dealing with. You think your dadβs tough? Watch Uncle Cam.β Knowing he shouldnβt encourage the mischief in his nephewβs eyes but unable to stop himself from the unspoken dare, Cam hurried to the kitchen, found a large glass and filled it with ice-cold water. Considering the freezing January wind outside, Mike would be basking in a hot shower to warm up. Cam grinned, looking forward to his brotherβs howl of misery.
Colin trailed him like a puppy. βOh wow, Uncle Cam. Are you going to get Dad?β He clapped.
βShh.β
βOh, sorry.β Colinβs big grin showed a missing front tooth.
Cam walked down more ugly brown carpet that looked as it if had been vacuumed to deathβMike and his obsession with cleanlinessβand tiptoed into the big guyβs room. He made sure he had a clear exit. If his goliath big brother caught him, heβd be toast. Fortunately, he could move like a gazelle.
Gliding into the master bathroom, he readied himself. One, twoβ¦three. He yanked open the curtain and tossed the cold water atβ¦Vanessa Campbell?
He stared in shock at the sexiest woman heβd seen in a long, long time. Naked, her creamy skin glistened with water as she gaped at him in horror. Which quickly turned to anger.
βCameron McCauley!β
βOh, wow.β He couldnβt look away
