Reviewer’s Thoughts
“Summer Nights”, Tara Rose’s latest book, and the second in her “The Doms of Sybaris Cove” series was a very enjoyable read. All of Tara’s stories are enjoyable, but I’m really excited about this particular series. I’m always looking for something unusual or unique, and so far, I’ve got that and then some. The heroes are hot; the heroine is strong and artistic. The subplots are exciting and very intriguing. There’s mystery and corporate intrigue, and it’s just so much fun!
Our heroine, Giselle (By the way, I just love that name!) has grown up on the island, and when she was younger, she was a very close friend of Kade and Elliot. Her parents own a popular watering hole, while the guys are members of the original families who came and took over years and years ago.
I don’t like to give away spoilers, and it’s so hard not to with “Summer Nights”. I want to tell you everything because it’s so good. The story takes off quickly and will keep you interested from page one. The chemistry between Giselle (Have I mentioned I love that name?), Elliot, and Kade is obvious. Secret looks here and there, and some shy eye contact from the floor of the Phoebe’s Playthings factory to the upper office. It’s a very sexy vibe. Speaking of sexy…whew! There is heat to spare when the three come together. The love scenes are spectacular. I mean panty meltingly awesome! This is the part where I tell you that this is a BDSM threesome relationship. There are spankings, floggings, toys, some wonderful double penetration, and all sorts of other delights. The men are distant cousins, so there is NO touching between the two of them. That’s ok because there is a LOT of delicious touching to be showered upon Giselle (Still loving it!). Watching her descend into a world of pleasure meeting pain…giving herself completely to Elliot and Kade was a joy, and it was perfectly written.
I did mention corporate intrigue. Phoebe’s Playthings is the largest distributor of sex toys in the country, and there are a lot of people who want to see them fail. Here, we get to see how far people will go to do just that. Then, there is just a teeny bit of angst to move the story along, but it’s solved quickly. We don’t have to suffer through pages and pages of it, and that’s just fine with me.
I suppose this story could be read as a stand alone, but I really recommend that you start at the beginning. “One Week in Paradise” is a novella. It’s available for free, only through the BookStrand app (which is also free). Next are “Behind Blue Eyes”, and now “Summer Nights”. Because of the ongoing mystery, you may be just a little confused. Tara Rose is giving the reader something really exciting and new. I’ve enjoyed every book she’s ever written, but I’m not being biased here. I mean it. You should really check this series/book out. You’ll become a fan, just like I did.
Thank you for so much for the review! <3
