Reviewer’s Thoughts
“In the Blind” was a very nice break from real life. I was having a rough day, and I sat down to read it. By the time I’d finished, there was a huge smile on my face. It was short (I read it in about an hour.), but it packed a lot of punch. It was sweet and hot…with a capital H-O-T, and it was exactly what I needed.
Let me give you a quick rundown. Jane is in a rut. Her relationship has just ended, and she is having a difficult time getting her business on its feet. Topping it off, she can’t get a man who she met on the train out of her head. Her best friend recommends that she participate in an event at Club Blind (no spoilers). She’s told that it was exactly what she needed. It turns out that her friend was right.
There you have it. This is the perfect set up for the rest of the book. Things start to really take off from there, and it’s at break neck speed. There was humor, some angst, romance, and of course, I already mentioned the incredible sex. You’ll be quite satisfied by the end. I know I sure was.
Now, remember this is an erotic romance, and it most certainly is that, but there is also some light BDSM…some spanking and even just a little bit of rope, but it’s not copious amounts, and it doesn’t get in the way of the story. There are some great background characters, and since this is the first in a series, I imagine that they’ll turn up in future books.
I really enjoyed reading “In the Blind”. It was the first story I’ve read from S.J. Maylee, and I’m sure that I’ll be seeking out other titles from her.
