Hunter Waters has loved only one woman for his entire life.
Unfortunately she’s his brother’s girlfriend, Ever Allen. Hunter isn’t the kind of guy to betray family, but when his brother Sam has to leave town and asks Hunter to look after her, the feelings he’s fought for years can no longer be buried.
Ever can’t think of a time when both Waters brothers hadn’t been watching her back. Sam’s boldness had charmed her, but now Hunter’s quiet, steady strength makes her feel safe for the first time in her crazy, messed-up life. But how can she choose between the only two people in the world to have cared about her? How can she live with loving one brother if it means breaking the other’s heart?

Tell us about yourself.
Thank you so much for having me! Iβm a mom of two, and Iβve been married to an amazing guy for seven years. Iβm a former elementary school teacher. When I started staying home with my daughter, I was looking for something I could do for myself that wasnβt baby-related. Iβve always had such a passion for reading and writing, but Iβd never attempted writing a book before April 2013. I self-published my first three titles, and now Iβm a proud traditionally published author as well. Life is good!
What three things about you might surprise your readers?
Wow, Iβm still pretty new out there in the publishing world, so probably everything about me would surprise my readers! But, to pick three: 1)I do not like mac and cheese. 2)I donβt have a desk. Like, at all. I write while sitting on my bed. 3) Iβm a believer, and Iβm very active in my church. My best friend is my pastorβs wife, and she reads all my books. And I donβt cring when we talk about them!
Is there a genre(s) that you think βI might like to write one of those.β?
Oh, my word! Yes! I would really love to write a Romantic Fantasy. Iβm not sure if I have it in me, but Iβd love to try. Especially in New Adult, because there arenβt many.
Tell us about Ever Always.
Ever Always is the second book in my Nelson Island series, and itβs a novella. Itβs also a story that my earliest beta readers of WANTING FOREVER demanded. They wanted to know why Ever did the things she did in WF, and I thought I should probably tell her story. Sheβs a girl who grew up with the steady friendship of two brothers. She suddenly loses Sam, who sheβs been dating for years, and in his absence his brother Hunter steps back fully into her life. Itβs a story of discovering who weβre really meant to be, and in turn who weβre meant to be with.
Where did the idea for the storyline come from?
Like I said previously, it was actually something early readers of WANTING FOREVER asked for. They wanted more of an explanation on Sam and Everβs backstory, and I wanted to give an elaboration on how her life ended up after she made a major, life-changing decision in WF.
What do you think readers will like/love about Ever and Hunter?
I hope that readers will love the fact that Ever and Hunter both follow their hearts. I hope they love the fact that Ever finds her inner strength through Hunter, and that he brings her back to herself after sheβs been lost. I hope they like the fact that Hunter is there for Ever when she needs him most, and that he is strong and steady in the face of some major brotherly adversity.
What was your favorite scene from the book?
My favorite scene occurs when Hunter decides staying away from Ever isnβt worth it anymore. Basically, when he makes his move!
Who are some of your book boyfriends?Β What draws you to them?
Good Lord, how much time to dyou have?? Here are my top three, and this was SO hard to decide:
Shane, from the Morganville Vampires series by Rachel Caine. I love Shane because heβs steady as a rock and he can kick some serious vampire ass when he needs to. Heβs also so loyal and loving. And he cooks kick-ass chilli. Yum!
Russell, from the Premonition series by Amy. A. Bartol. I am so in love with Russeel because heβs such a GOOD guy. And heβs from the South. And heβs an angel. And heβs very hotheaded, which translates into laying down his own life to protect Evie. And swoon. Sigh.
Evan, from the Breathing series by Rebecca Donovan. I love Evan because in that series, all Emma needed was someone to be there for her, her rock when she had so much turmoil in her life. Evan was that, and so much more. He was flawed, but in such a perfect way. And sometimes the deepness of his love for Emma made me cry. I love to cry. Is that weird?
Can you tell that Iβm not so drawn to the normal, super-sexy, rugged, bad-boy alpha male? Ha!
If you had to pick a favorite cocktail of choice, what would it be?Β (It can be non-alcoholic too)
If I had to pick one? Like someone was twisting my arm? Umβ¦that never happes. Iβm usually the first one at a dinner table with my friends to order a cocktail! But I really love a glass of sparkling, sweet white wine over a cocktail. Preferrably a Moscato.
Whatβs next for you?
Well, the third book in the Nelson Island series will be released in April from Forever Yours. I have three more books planned in that series as well, although they havenβt been picked up by a publisher yet. And my agent is currently reading the first book in a new military hero series Iβm starting, so weβll just have to wait and see where that ends up. Iβm just going to keep writing love stories. And hope people like them βΊ
Diana Gardin isΒ a wife of one and a mom of two. Writing is her second full time job to that, andΒ she loves it! Diana writes contemporary romance in the Young Adult and New Adult categories. She’s also a former Elementary school teacher. She loves steak, sugar cookies, and Coke and hates working out.
