Reviewer’s Thoughts

Fighting for Hazel book eight of the Men of Treasure Cove by Rebecca Joyce was a great read and one that I will read again. Rebecca Joyce pulled me into this book rather quickly. With many series one of my biggest complaints is the recap of previous books or characters to the point of boredom for those who follow the series. Fighting for Hazel is not one of those books. If you have not read any other books in this series you will still enjoy if not love Fighting for Hazel and end up reading the entire series from the beginning. You will not have to worry about missing previous books and will still love the plot, the dialogue will still make sense and you will still fall for one or both Steven and Neil Conner. Β Hazel Montgomery is trying to get over her past and move on but it is hard when the past is something you can not just brush away. Neil Connor has been in love with Hazel and wants her for him and his brother. Hazel is able to talk to Neil and loves both the men but is always wondering if she and Steven can talk without arguing.

Steven Conner is a strong man who doesn’t like to show his emotions and does not like others to see his weaknesses. Neil Connor is easy to talk to and wears his heart on his sleeve. Both Connor brothers want Hazel to be theirs but they all have to confront Hazel’s past to move forward. Hazel doesn’t think she can handle both men and because of her past has trouble letting both men get to know her true self because of her demons that she has to face. Hazel is a strong woman who is scared to let anyone too close and it is completely understandable as you find out why she has so many trust issues with men and people in general. Neil has to fight not only for Hazel but for Steven, his brother, to keep him from loosing his temper or giving up hope. And Steven has to fight not only for Hazel but has to confront his own weaknesses and determine if Hazel is worth changing himself to be able to make this relationship work. This book is full of excitement in the town of Treasure Cove. You love Hazel for all that she survives in her past and how she has grown and still growing. Neil you love for his compassionate nature. Steven is that alpha male that you want to strangle but love the dominant that resides within. The book is not too fast paced and it is definitely not boring. I had a hard time putting this book down once I picked it up. Rebecca Joyce successfully drew me into Treasure Cove again with her writing style and characters. If you have read others of this series you will not be disappointed with Fighting for Hazel. As a new book or series you will not only fall for the Connor brothers and Hazel but you will fall in love with Rebecca Joyce and The Men of Treasure Cove series. I highly recommend reading this book whether you have read any of this series or not, you will love Fighting For Hazel.
