A mixed-blood Native American wolf-shifter, abandoned by a teenage mother and ignored by an absentee father, Rio Waya has never fit in or felt worthy of love. But when he comes home to the Black Hills, he realizes he wants a mate of his own.
Recovering from a cheating ex who started a new family behind her back, Sela LΓ³pez seeks escape to pull her life back together. As a documentary filmmaker and wildlife photographer, she rents a cabin in the Black Hills with plans to film the beleaguered wolf population. Sparks fly as mutual fears and vulnerabilities surface when Sela and Rio meet. She canβt figure out why the mysterious Mr. Waya is so anxious about having a documentary made of the Black Hills Wolves. But when his secret is exposed, all hell breaks loose. Can Rio win Selaβs trust and soothe her fears about allowing a hunky wolf-shifter into her heart?

Reviewer’s Thoughts
I really enjoyed this book. Rio and Sela are interesting characters. Both have painful pasts but are trying to heal. Rio has been alone for a long time, but when his wolf senses and kindred spirit in Sela, he has to know more about this strong-willed Latina and her passion for wolves.
Sela is nursing a broken heart and thinks she can heal in Los Lobos while filming the Black Hills wolves and soaking in the peaceful mountainside. What she doesnβt know is that the dreamy brown-eyed park ranger has a deep secret and doesnβt want Sela to uncover it. What Rio hasnβt kept secret is his desire for Sela. Can the answers to their prayers be as easy as getting lost in each otherβs arms or will Rioβs secret send Sela running for good?
The story was very entertaining and held my interest through to the very end. I just wish the story was longer. I would have loved to have seen more of the townsfolk or an introduction to Selaβs family. There is mention of her lineage but it wasnβt expanded upon and I would have loved that aspect in the story as well.
This is a short, solid read for anyone who needs a quick paranormal fix!
