Their one night stand wasnβt supposed to end this wayβ¦
Positive. With two little lines on a pregnancy test, everything in Lizzy Rollins' ordinary life is about to change forever. And all because of one big mistake in Vegas with Ben Nicholson, the devastatingly sexy bass player for Stage Dive. So what if Ben's the only man whoβs ever made her feel out of control with desire? Lizzy knows the gorgeous rock star isn't looking for anything more permanent than a good time, no matter how much she wishes differently. Ben knows Lizzy is off limits. Completely and utterly. She's his best friend's little sister, and no matter how hot the chemistry between them, no matter how sweet and sexy she is, he's not going to go there. But when Ben has a moment of weakness in Sin City, he learns that what happens in Vegas doesnβt always stay there. Now he and Lizzie are connected in the deepest way possible...but will it lead to a true connection of the heart?
Candace’s Thoughts
I was so excited to dive into Deep but also a wee bit sad as this is the last in the Stage Dive Series. Β I absolutely adore these rockers. Β Ben was no exception. Β He was told to stay away from Lizzy Rollins by one of his bandmates Mal and he did everything in his power to keep her at a distance. Β But Lizzy was beyond persuasive and just wore him down. Β I loved that she started there relationship with something as innocent as texting and talking. Β Ben finally gave into temptation in Sin City at Mal and Pumpkin’s wedding.
One night. Β Two positive lines later. Β The way the pregnancy comes to light is classic Stage Dive behavior. Β Their “family” dinners are always a hoot and eye opening for the entire crew. Β Poor Ben is blindsided and Lizzy who is already overwhelmed with the pregnancy can see this isn’t going to play out well. Β Ben being the good guy that he is tells Lizzy he will be there for his child and take care of her. Β His methods are questionable at times and you hurt for Lizzy. Β She has clearly been in love with Ben for awhile but unfortunately Ben likes his “simple” life. Β Watching them get to their HEA was cringe worthy at times but also a nice ending to this series.
On a side note, I am really hoping Vaughn is getting his own series. Β Holy hotness. Β Also, Martha, Ben’s sister, was actually fun to read. Β She is a colossal pain in a$$ but sometimes those make for the best stories. Β Kylie Scott’s Stage Dive series is one of the best rocker series out there and I am said to see it end but Ben and Lizzy were a true joy to read and a nice ending to the series.
βWhere have you been?β My sister rushed forward, catching me up in a tight hug. βIβve been trying to call you all day. We checked everywhere and couldnβt find you.β
βSorry. I just needed some alone time.β I squeezed her back, unable to stop from smiling. The thought of Anne turning her back on me had scared me more than I liked to admit.
βWell, I get you might want that.β She stepped back. βBut you could have told someone.β
βYou canβt just disappear like that.β And Ben kept right on frowning. βShit, Liz, youβre pregnant.β
βDonβt upset her,β snapped Anne.
Ben ignored her. βI donβt know what the hellβs going on in your head. But you need to let me know where you are.β
My eyebrows went up and my mouth opened, ready to rip him a new one.
βShe doesnβt answer to you. Sheβll let you know if and when she decides to let you know,β said Mal, laying down the law to his bandmate before turning my way. βYou will text your sister next time you decide to go wandering for a day, understood?β
My mouth, it still hung open.
βChrist, man.β Over and over, Benβs hands rolled into tight fists before releasing again. βCan you cut the shit and get off my back for a fucking minute?β
βDonβt swear at him.β My usually sensible and staid sister poked a finger dead center in Benβs broad chest. βYouβre the one that caused this mess, thank you very much. She might still be a little young and naive, but youβre definitely old enough to know better.β
βThatβs right.β Standing about as tall as a skyscraper, despite only coming up to Benβs nose, Mal stared him down. Or up. Whatever. βThis is a family matter. You can leave, thanks.β
