Years ago, golden-boy Kyle Archer left Ribbon Ridge without a word. Now, with heartbreak on the verge of tearing his family apart, the black sheep is back and heβs determined to earn their trust by uncovering the truth behind Alexβs death. But the moment he confronts Maggie Trentβthe therapist his parents blame for the tragedyβKyle is stunned by his powerful attraction to the beautiful doctorβ¦ and drawn to her like no woman heβs ever met before.
When gorgeous, charismatic Kyle approaches Maggie about his brotherβs death, she agrees to help him search for answers. And as they piece together Alexβs last days, their undeniable chemistry turns too hot to ignore. After their relationship becomes more serious than either anticipated, Kyle may be forced to choose between the woman heβs desperate to hold on to and the family he almost let slip away.
Elizabeth B’s Thoughts
Yours to Hold is an emotion filled journey! This second book in the Ribbon Ridge series focuses on Kyle, one of the Archer sextuplets, and Maggie, his brotherβs former therapist. Their relationship evolves from something that is completely antagonistic and it is interesting to watch them together.
I spent the first half of the book not really seeing how these two could make a relationship work long term. They both had major issues to deal with and each seemed to be using the other to fix things or at least not deal with them. Ms. Burke did a wonderful job of taking that codependent feel and turning it into something real and lasting.
Yours to Hold can definitely be read as a stand-alone book, but having read the first book in the series, Only In My Dreams, helped in understanding the back story and interactions with the secondary characters.
One of the elements I have enjoyed most about this series of books is how the characters evolve, not only in their romantic relationship, but with the other important relationships in their lives. We see them really grow as people and it makes the love story more compelling. I am looking forward to seeing what happens next for the Archer siblings.
