Sheβs a client. Thatβs all.
Or it should be.
But with every lesson, sheβs becoming more.
The secrets Iβm hiding behind the image of the Gentleman Mentor make telling her the truthβand having anything realβimpossible.
Iβm training her for another man, and that fact guts me every time I think of it.
I know sheβs not mine β¦ but part of me wonβt accept that.
Am I willing to risk it all to keep her?
Shannon’s Thoughts
The Gentleman has a dirty, dirty mouth. Β Those were my initial thoughts when we meet the hero. Β But that dirty mouth endeared me to him and made this a book I didn’t want to put down.
THE GENTLEMAN MENTOR was one of the books that surprised me. Β I wasn’t sure how I was going to like a guy who was going to teach a woman in six dates how to win the guy she wants. Β But Kendall Ryan gives us a great hero in Cameron Hale, showing us there was so much more to this gentleman mentor.
Brielle was a woman who was tired of having horrible first dates. Β She decides she needs to the help of the Gentleman Mentor, a man who promises to teach her how to seduce the man she wants…her best friend Kirby. Β But when she meets her mentor, she’s intrigued by the man and embracing everything he shows to her, making her wonder if Kirby is really the man she wants.
Hale is a perfect hero. Β He comes off as an ass, but we learn there’s a reason and we see the type of man he is the more he’s with Brielle. Β You want him to shake of his past and fight for the woman he can’t seem to let go. Β It takes him a bit, but he does step up and go after what he wants.
I loved this book. Β Kendall Ryan Β created a couple of characters and a storyline that pulled me into the world and didn’t want to let me go until the very last page. Β If you’re a reader looking to dip their toes into the erotic/BDSM world, this is definitely a well crafted book to start out with.
I take a minute to survey her. Sheβs petite, just like I imagined her. Brunette. Big blue eyes whose gaze drifts between mine and the floor as if she doesnβt know where to look. There must be some goddamn mistake, because thereβs no way sheβd need any help attracting a man. But if itβs my help she wants, I wonβt refuse her.
βMay I?β I ask, pulling out the seat next to her and moving toward it. Sheβs timid, and I need to remember my manners.
βPlease,β she says. βIβm Brielle.β
βNo names.β
βEveryone calls me Brie, though.β She twists her hands in her lap.
βSweetheart?β I say, and her gaze darts up to mine. βI said no names.β
βOh. Iβm sorry.β She swallows down her nerves. βBut what should I call you?β
βYou may call me Dom.β
Our gazes connect, and a flash of desire pools low in my spine. Fucking hell. This should be interesting.
