In New York Times bestselling author Karen Robardsβs latest heart-pounding thriller, a woman must uncover a murdererβor risk being the next victim of a vicious killer. When Riley Cowan finds her estranged husband Jeff dead in his palatial home, sheβs sure itβs no coincidence. The police rule it a suicide, but Riley thinks someoneβs out for bloodβspecifically someone Jeffβs father ripped off in one of the biggest financial fraud cases of all time. She suspects that someone is trying to send a message to Jeffβs father: Tell me where the money is, or everyone you care about will die. Enter Finn Bradley, an FBI agent with a dangerous secret. He's after the money too, and Riley quickly becomes his chief suspect. But when someone tries to kill her, he has no choice but to protect her until he can uncover the truth. The question becomes, can they discover the killerβs identity in time, before he resurfacesβand strikes again? Dubbed an βexceptional storytellerβ by the Chicago Tribune and βone of the most popular voices in womenβs fictionβ by Newsweek, Karen Robardsβs latest action-packed novel will keep you glued to the pages until the final, shocking conclusion.
Hush is a true romantic suspense story, it all the aspects of will they or wonβt they be together in the end, while at the same time providing a serious mystery that left me wondering who really did it and what happened.
I adored that Finn and Riley didnβt immediately fall in love, they were very much attracted to each other. Riley is a strong heroine, who refuses to believe her ex-husband killed himself on the very night he asked her to meet him somewhere.
There is a bit of tension because Riley isnβt sure that she can trust Finn, and heβs sure sheβs hiding something. I love that kind of tension in romantic suspense stories, it adds to the outside tension of the mystery, until I canβt help put finish the book in one sitting.
I definitely recommend this story to fans of romantic suspense because Ms. Robards doesnβt disappoint, and I was definitely guessing until the end!
