Sign: LeoHe takes control...and gives all kinds of pleasureIn the space of about a second, successful restaurateur Dane Bergman has gone from millionaire playboy to daddy. Now he's the sole guardian of a very adorable and willful four-year-old child, and he's counting on his executive assistant, Pamela Atwater, to save his ass. Even if it means bringing her along on a month-long ocean-side retreat...Pamela Atwater prides herself on being the perfect assistant. Whatever Dane wants or needs, she's there - pretending to ignore Dane's golden charm and drop-dead gorgeousness. On vacation, however, Pamela sees a side of Dane she never imagined. And it's a side that tempts her to cross the line between professional and personal. But is one month enough time to prove to Dane that his perfect assistant might just be his perfect match?
In the Millionaire Daddy Project we meet Dane, a Canadian restaurateur who overcame a challenging childhood to have a successful career and life. The only thing he doesnβt have is a committed relationship. Pam is his right hand assistant who makes his life run perfectly. Things in Daneβs world go crazy when a child welfare worker appears in his office with the daughter he didnβt know he had.
The story follows Dane as Pam helps him acclimate to raising his daughter, Dani. They travel to a private island and spend several weeks just by themselves.Β It is a well written book, but the characters seemed a little flat to me. I never really related to either Dane or Pam as they moved from coworkers to friends to lovers.
The story picked up for me a little bit after Pam and Dane crossed the line to having an intimate relationship and returned to their normal lives. My favorite scene was actually towards the end of the book when Dane makes the grand gesture needed to win Pamβs hand.
I really think this would have worked a little bit better as a novella, but it was still an interesting read.
