Our newest reviewer, Felicia, has our next Top Shelf Favorite Author. Felicia’s going to tell us why she picked Samantha Young as her favorite author.
How did you discover Samantha Young?
I thought the book cover for On Dublin Street was great which is why covers are so important!
What is it about this author and their books that have your coming back for more?
Samantha is excellent at exposition for both her characters and their surroundings. The Dublin Series takes place in Scotland and I really felt I could see what she was writing and feel what the characters feel. She does that again in her book Hero which takes place in Boston and with characters so different from the Dublin Series.
What’s your favorite book of Samantha Young’s? Why?
I love a good series and the Dublin Street series is just that. Samantha does a really good job drawing you into her characters and each book does build upon the last (I sometimes have to go back and re-read the previous book to remember what happened, which I am OK with) but not enough were you cant read them by themselves. So I would have to say the entire Dublin Series is my favorite. As a new reader you have to start with On Dublin Street to read about Joss and Braden – who to me are the backbone of the entire series.
Books in the Dublin Street Series
Samantha Young is a New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author from Stirlingshire, Scotland. She’s been nominated for the Goodreads Choice Award 2012 for Best Author and Best Romance for her international bestseller ON DUBLIN STREET and Best Romance 2014 for BEFORE JAMAICA LANE. ON DUBLIN STREET is Samantha’s first adult contemporary romance series and has sold in twenty-eight countries.
