Suspecting an internal mole, the government needs Luke Dubois and his elite team of operatives to recover their man, and the New Orleans native thinks heβs found his way inside the dark underbelly of Manhattan: Olivia Taylor, the girlfriend of a mob boss and the sexiest woman heβs ever laid eyes on. His new mission objective? Get past Oliviaβs defenses and convince her to take a chanceβon him.
All Olivia wanted was to finish law school and live a normal life, but that dream was shattered when one dangerous night put her deeply in a mobsterβs debt. Now Luke and his team will help her escapeβin exchange for intel on the missing agent. But Olivia doesnβt anticipate her intense attraction to the reckless Louisiana charmer or that sheβll be forced to risk everythingβincluding her heart.
Elle Kennedy brings on the suspense in the second book to her Killer Instincts series, Killer Alias. This book focuses predominately on Luke, the mercenary whose search for a missing DEA agent leads him to the Big Easy and directly in contact with Olivia Taylor, a stripper working in the club the agent was last seen.
This book was definitely as action packed as the first book in the series and definitely helped move the book along. Olivia was forced to strip when she desperately needed money, but she displayed an internal strength despite the difficulties of her current situation. Her chemistry with Luke is off the charts, but there was definitely the instalove (at least on his part) that seems to occur more and more with romance novels. This is a great series to read if youβre a fan of romantic suspense, and there were plenty of action, and there are ongoing secondary storylines and characters that will feed into the other books.
