Time travel student Isabella Gillman is about to embark on her most challenging assignment--leaping back to 1941 to observe World War II. The rules are simple: donβt get emotionally involved, and donβt interfere.
She breaks the first rule when she falls in love with rear-gunner Davy Porteous. The second is on its way out as well when she realizes history says he wonβt survive the war. Torn between the fundamental laws of her society and the man she loves, Isabella faces a harsh reality: does she risk both their lives for a future that may not happen?
She canβt predict the results if she corrupts the timelines, but without her actions, Davy is out of time.
This second installment to the series was better than the first. I was so antsy reading it, I had to fight not to skip to the last page and see if the characters found their happily ever after. This book was intense, sweet and heartbreaking. During the WW1 WW2 love was fleeting because the next hour could mean death for one of the lovers. A doomed love. It broke my heart knowing that was where the story was progressing to and yet it still found it heartachingly romantic. I highly recommend this book and I hope the next one will be just as great.
