Melody’s work as a hospice nurse both gives her life purpose and rips her heart out when her patients die. Her latest client left her his lakeside home. After years of living in foster homes, Melody seizes the opportunity for a real home.

Her happy residence comes to an abrupt halt when her benefactor’s missing nephew, Levi, shows up. A bomb shattered his leg and life, which left him in need of a safe place to figure out the rest of his life. The will leaves the house to both of them, but only if they cohabit for a year. Otherwise, the house goes to a third party.

Melody detests Levi for never writing or visiting his dying uncle. Levi considers Melody little more than a gold digger similar to his ex-wife. There’s no way he’ll let her have his inheritance.

What a sweet romantic story – I loved it from beginning to end. Melody is a hospic nurse who finds herself taking care of an older man (Roy) nearing the end of his life. She comes to look at Roy as a family member and is upset that his nephew (Levi) does not call or visit him. After Roy passes his Levi comes to claim his inhertance and finds that in order to claim his inheritance (the family home) he has to share the residence with Melody for a year. At first he plans to buy her out but after meeting her he comes to find he likes her.Β  Melody is a survivor of the foster care system and has overcome many things in life but still has some issues with her past, while Levi is a survivor of the Iraq war and has been recovering from being in a coma in addition to losing a leg.Β  Melody feels no man would be interested in her because she is a bigger girl and Levi feels no woman would want him with only one leg.Β  They both battle their attraction to each other fighting it to the bitter end. This was a very engaging romance, I am looking forward to more from this author.
