On her first day working for Emmett Radcliffe, President of Radcliffe Software and Web Design, Liane Peyton learns that Emmett hired her not only for her design skills, but for her coding abilities. Liane finds herself building a secret database for Emmett and his friends, but saving the planet isn’t Emmett’s only obsession. He has his sights set on Liane, and he will stop at nothing to have her. Emmett is part of a group of friends financing the efforts to put a stop to The Madeline Project. The program now has a mind of its own, thanks to a virus called Tommy Twister. These men have power, resources, and money, but they’re as ruthless and possessive as the storms ravaging Earth. They call themselves the Weathermen…

Please have mercy on me, Ravenna Tate.  I am only human, after all.  If you keep writing books like “Obsession By Design”, I might be headed to an early grave because my heart can’t take it.

I’m not sure if I could love this story any more than I did.  It has everything…literally, everything.  The main characters are interesting, and they’ve got amazing chemistry.  The subject is timely, and even a bit on the scary side (No…I don’t mean their relationship).  The plot is well written and thought out.  There’s great dialogue and humor, and it’s intelligent.  And I would be completely remiss if I didn’t mention the sex.  Oh, the sex!  From the first kiss until the very end, Emmett and Liane have just THE hottest sex.  It was nuclear, and I found myself wiggling in my chair just a bit.  Ok…more than a bit.  It was incredible, and it was intense, and I am not kidding when I say it included perhaps the BEST anal scene I’ve ever read (if you’re into that kind of thing).

I want to give you a quick plot rundown, but not too much because the book speaks for itself.  It’s the future, and a group of hackers have destroyed a program that was supposed to help maintain the weather.  Now, the earth is 80% uninhabitable, and most of the people live in underground cities.  There is a group of men who are trying to find those hackers and to stop the virus they infected the project with.  Here, we have Emmett who owns a software/web design company.  He hires Liane, a talented programmer to help work on a database that can be used to search for codenames and identies of the hackers.  There is an instant attraction, and while Emmett isn’t a relationship kind of guy, his intention to bed Liane for only a little while begins to fall apart VERY soon after they’re first encounter.

That’s the gist, and you really MUST read the rest.  “Obsession By Design” is the second installment in “The Weathermen” series, and what a great series it’s shaping up to be.  The first story, “Appetite for Blackmail” is fantastic too.  Obviously, it’s going to follow the adventures of the men who call themselves The Weathermen, and the hackers will eventually be discovered and brought to justice.  I’m excited to have been able to get in on the ground floor, and I can’t wait to see what else Ms. Tate has in store.

About Ravenna Tate

Ravenna Tate lives in the Midwest where it’s cold six months out of the year, but inside her stories you’ll find plenty of heat. The sex is hot, the men are alpha, and the women give them a run for their money.

I am a lover of alpha males with dirty mouths, strong heroines putting alpha males in their place, and the Chicago Blackhawks. I'm a proud hockey mom who can often be found at the hockey rink cheering on my favorite forward, with my kindle close by.
