From the New York Times bestselling authors of the Masters of MΓ©nage series . . .
They are the Perfect Gentlemen of Creighton Academy: privileged, wealthy, powerful friends with a wild side. But a deadly scandal is about to tear down their seemingly ideal lives . . .
Maddox Crawfordβs sudden death sends Gabriel Bond reeling. Not only is he burying his best friend, heβs cleaning up Madβs messes, including his troubled company. Grieving and restless, Gabe escapes his worries in the arms of a beautiful stranger. But his mind-blowing one-night stand is about to come back to haunt him . . .
Mad groomed Everly Parker to be a rising star in the executive world. Now that heβs gone, sheβs sure her job will be the next thing she mourns, especially after she ends up accidentally sleeping with her new boss. If only their night together hadnβt been so incendiaryβor Gabe like a fantasy come true . . .
As Gabe and Everly struggle to control the heated tension between them, they discover evidence that Madβs death was no accident. Now they must bank their smoldering passions to hunt down a murdererβbecause Mad had secrets that someone was willing to kill for, and Gabe or Everly could be the next target . . .
The beginning of the story leaves you wanting to know how this book will end.Β At the end of the first chapter, I could not wait to finish the book.Β The world Ms. Blake and Ms. Black created is realistic as well very complex. They were able to incorporate as sense of location as well as time.Β Ms. Blake and Ms. Black were able to pull the reader into the world she created. The pace of the story was a steady fast pace from the first page to the last.Β The main characters and the secondary characters were exciting and complex.Β I loved that none of characters were perfect.Β Each of them had their own faults they each had to deal with making them realistic and multifaceted.
The point of view alternated between Gabriel and Everly, giving the reader a glimpse inside both characters.Β The changing point of view was done with care so the reader did not get lost or repeat story lines.Β The main conflicts of the story are finding out who killed Maddox Crawford as well as the relationship between Gabriel and Everly.Β The conflict keeps the story moving forward in a convincing and believable way.Β The level of conflict is perfect, anymore and it would have detracted for the storyline.Β The dialogue between the characters was genuine and unique.Β The characters voice seemed to match not only the setting but also seemed fit their overall personality.Β This book is filled with twists and turns that keep the reader entertained from the first page to the last.Β I had a hard time putting this book down.Β I canβt wait to read the next book in the series.
